The dining table is the center point of family life for Chinese and at Soon Huat Dining House we want to keep this tradition to live on. We hope to connect people through our simple yet authentic and affordable Chinese food and through memorable dining experiences in a bright and contemporary Chinese oriental ambience. Either celebrating joyous family banquets or casual social gatherings, Soon Huat Dining House will be an ideal choice. We hope to inspire and delight our diner with delicious, healthy and innovative food. We hope to nourish mind, body and soul for all generations.

Soon Huat Dining House is a new concept of Soon Huat Bak Kut Teh with an expanded menu including many other Local Signature Dishes besides Bak Kut Teh.

The founder of Soon Huat - JABEZ TAN is an ex-offender himself with total 13 years imprisonment and 12 strokes of cane due to drug related offenses.

With strong determination to break away from his addiction and his old lifestyle after being converted to be a Christian, Jabez decided to pick up cooking skills in Changi prison during his last term.

Jabez started off as a kitchen dishwasher. He soon became main chef due to his outstanding culinary skills. Later on, Jabez came up with a Bak Kut Teh recipe from scratch and started his F&B business with a good cause.

In 2012, Jabez and the team had an honor to receive the President's Challenge Social Enterprise Start-Up Award for being a sustainable enterprise and for the social impact that the company has achieved in helping ex-offenders.

In 2014, Soon Huat became a Singapore Brand Award Winner with impeccable quality in food and in having good service

SOON HUAT SOCIAL MISSION

TO PROVIDE ex-offenders, drug abusers and the less privileged in the community meaningful employment opportunities and provide them with training in culinary and management skills to increase their efficiency in their various roles such as cook, supervisors and cashiers.

VISION

Raising up ex-offenders to help ex-offenders.

Soon Huat is the business of a second chance. 65% of our staff strength are from ex-offenders. They once involved in drug trafficking, roberries, gang fights... Yet they find a chance to start life anew with Soon Huat. Many of them are now holding important positions in the company such as chef, supervisors, cashiers...
