ROCKU Yakiniku

There’s something about succulent grilled meats paired with ice cold beers that is extremely delightful. Introducing ROCKU Yakiniku, a casual, upbeat and edgy Yakiniku restaurant at the new Bugis+. Delivering a fresh concept to traditional Yakiniku joints, ROCKU Yakiniku defies convention by melding a traditional style of Japanese dining with modern entertainment, perfectly characterizing Japanese pop subculture.

Known as one of the classic culinary styles from Japan, Japanese Yakiniku is a flaming charcoal grill experience that accentuates the pure characteristics of fine meats, poultry and vegetables. Guests can savour their food hot throughout the entire meal, and there’s no better way to enjoy the tantalizing cuts of meat, ranging from beef to pork and chicken served at ROCKU Yakiniku. Flown in from the USA, Australia and Japan, premium cuts such as the Wagyu beef brisket, Australian sirloin and short ribs cater to all meat lovers. Other specialties such as Hotate Mentaiyaki (Scallops baked in fish roe and mayonnaise), Saba fish, as well as an assortment of Tempura dishes promise a rocking experience.

Located at the recently revamped Bugis+ (formally Illuma) opposite Bugis Junction, ROCKU Yakiniku is catered to the trendy, hip, and young at heart. The first “restaurantainment” concept of its kind, video creations of street images and of Japanese entertainment subculture are flashed on graffiti-splattered walls that are hand painted by renown Asian Urban Artist, Antz. Accompanied by indoor strobe lighting, the industrial feel of bare brick walls and metal easily transport guests into a dining and entertainment arena like no other.

Apart from the multi-media entertainment, ROCKU also entertains and enthralls its guests with modern music of the Korean, Japanese and Mandarin Pop-Rock variety. With numerous spontaneous events to keep its guests entertained, coupled by an affordably priced menu with equally affordable beers, this hip joint is determined to be discovered.
