The Original Oyster House restaurant first opened its doors in Gulf Shores in 1983. Our restaurant on the Causeway, overlooking Mobile Bay, opened in 1985. Since then we have proudly served the Gulf Coast the best seafood in a casual atmosphere.
Since 1983, the Original Oyster House has been a "must-go-to" place for great fresh Gulf seafood, service and Southern hospitality and for its panoramic waterfront sunsets. A top spot for hand-shucked and fire-grilled oysters, the Original Oyster House is also legendary for its homemade gumbo, cheesy grits with blackened shrimp, seafood platters as well as handcrafted desserts including its famous peanut butter chocolate chip pie. Patrons, employees and children are welcomed as family. Both the Mobile Causeway and Gulf Shores locations offer spectacular waterfront views, private party rooms and have been celebrated as the area’s finest family seafood restaurants for more than 30 years.
