Green Barn Whiskey Kitchen

The Green Barn Steakhouse in Red Bluff was founded in 1959. There were also two other "Barns" located in Chico and Ukiah, California. Back then the Green Barn started with a simple concept, and that was to provide great food at a great price while having the freshest meats and produce of northern California to choose from.

The Red Bluff Barn is the only restaurant open today, but the motto lives on. Helping keep that spirit alive are the owners Bruce and Paulette Geveden. They believe in the value of a dollar and never wish their customers to leave hungry. The Green Barn's portions are so big and most products are hand-made fresh including, soups, sauces and most importantly, desserts.

The Geveden ideals do not stop there. They are both strong members of their church and their community. Years ago the Green Barn started closing on Sundays and along with faith it was also to ensure that employees would have time for their families too. Bruce who was raised in Kentucky has brought many southern recipes to the Barns repertoire, and Paulette who was born and raised in Red Bluff, treats her place of business as though it was her own kitchen. Paulette also is the brains behind the operation, as she has worked in the restaurant business for over 30 year’s before buying the Green Barn in 2000.
