The Best Beach: Calamander Unawatuna Beach (formerly known as UBR) is Sri Lanka’s most popular resort. A New beginning for a Great Legacy: established over 30 years ago, UBR has been recently redeveloped as the Calamander Unawatuna Beach. The new UBR maintains the relaxed character of the old, the excellent service from long standing staff, the good food and al fresco dining; whilst dramatically improving the quality of the rooms and facilities to official four star class. The refurbishment delivers high quality rooms in a contemporary design with an emphasis on natural light, great bathrooms, a comfortable bed, high-spec connectivity and entertainment systems, and leading branded fixtures and fittings.

The full service menu includes a wide range of Western, Eastern and Sri Lankan favourites for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The popular International Buffet continues to draw a big crowd with its established favourites, complemented with a quality a la carte menu and excellent Italian dishes. Brix Pizzeria is a light eating, café style concept and specializes in freshly baked pizzas, baguettes and sandwiches. The restaurants are sited directly on the beach, have a capacity for 250 pax, and are open all day, every day. A new bar: U-Bar and a café serving Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf premium beverages complete the hotel’s choice of food and beverages.
A Full Range of Facilities: sports facilities on offer include Unawatuna’s only swimming pool, marine water sports including snorkeling, diving and whale watching; badminton, table tennis, beach volley ball, a gym, aqua aerobics, boules and croquet.
