Barbareño

Join us in celebrating California's Central Coast.

Barbareño

The word Barbareño comes from the name of the original Chumash dialect that was spoken in the area, which now lies on the coast of California's Santa Barbara Channel between Rincon Point and Point Conception.
We want this to be a restaurant that could not exist anywhere else. A place that embodies where we are, how we got here, and the moment in which we're living. Where the food is not only locally sourced, but also locally inspired. And where our guests can slow down and fully appreciate all that our home has to offer.
With our cuisine, we strive to shed new light on familiar foods and ingredients. Ranch dressing, avocados, Santa Maria barbeque--these foods, along with many others, are all rooted in this area. By taking these as a starting point and applying the creativity of our chefs, we hope to reinterpret these well known foods in a new way, to help further define a modern micro-regional style of cooking specific to Santa Barbara and the Central Coast.
